CLEANING FOR HARD GAS PERMEABLE CONTACT LENSES
Upon Removal of Your Contact Lenses
- Wash your hands with OPTISOAP.
- On a daily basis, clean the contact lenses with a gas permeable hard contact lens cleaner. Cleaning requires 30 seconds of gentle finger rubbing.
- OPTIONAL – NECESSITY TO BY DETERMINED BY NTEC STAFF: On a weekly or monthly basis, clean your lenses with POLISH BRITE. Put a small amount of POLISH BRITE in your palm. Add a couple of drops of aerosol saline and liquefy the mixture. Moisten the contact with saline and gently clean it in your palm with your fingers. Do not apply too much pressure while cleaning. Clean both sides and the edges of the lens thoroughly.
- Rinse well with CANNED AEROSOL SALINE.
- Store overnight in BOSTON CONDITIONING SOLUTION
Prior To Insertion of Your Contact Lenses
- Wash you hands with OPTISOAP.
- Wash you hands with OPTISOAP
- Remove your contact lenses from the storage container. Apply a few drops of BOSTON CONDITION SOLUTION to the contact lenses and insert the lenses onto your eyes.
- DO NOT rinse your contact lenses with tap water.
REWETTING DROPS
- Use preservative free Refresh Plus artificial tear.
CONTACT LENS CASE CLEANING
- Wash your hands with OPTISOAP.
- Fill the contact lens case with either an Alcon or AMO disinfecting agent.
- Finger rub the contact lens case.
- Discard the disinfecting agent.
- Wipe down the lens case with a tissue.
- Allow the case to air dry.PLEASE NOTE – This procedure does NOT produce a “sterile” contact lens case. It DOES, however, optimize your chances of avoiding bacterial contamination of your contact lenses.
